99b. Apparently many of those serving with the USAF had their "Leaving Jolly Ole England" party here at the 17th century Ship Inn at Blaxhall. In 2008 it has reverted to being a more friendly public house, apparently.

99c. Do you remember this 'Blank'? (half Bloke, half Yank) Yes, it is Jim Grubbs!  He ran the Ship for many years but sold the Ship at Blaxhall and retired, with his wife Susie, to Middleton. This pic taken 6 August 1997. The beer pump is for Adnams Broadside bitter

99d.This is Geoff Ling, who has entertained many at the Ship, with his country singing.  Geoff was born in 1916 and was still in good voice when the picture was taken in 1997. In August 1998, Geoff moved to Saxmundham, so won't be seen at the Ship so often. That's a real shame.
