One of the true masters of British crime fiction, Peter Robinson will be in town to talk about the 25th novel in his best-selling DCI Banks series. Played by Stephen Tompkinson on TV, these books have been described as “undercutting the genre’s familiarity…unsettling the reader”.
Called ‘Careless Love’ his latest book recounts how Banks is caught between two cases. At first they seem unrelated – an apparent suicide of a university student in an abandoned car on the Yorkshire moors and a walker fallen to his death, discovered in a gulley. As Banks and his team piece together the evidence, he also has to deal with the return of an old enemy.
If you came along to our lunchtime event with Jeffery Deaver last month, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to meet Peter. Indeed Jeffery has commended Peter’s writing as “top-notch police procedure”. This is a marvellous opportunity to learn more about the fascinating art of crime writing.
Tickets are £20 each and include a copy of ‘Careless Love’ (RRP £20). Call Browsers on 01394 388890 to book your ticket.
