Bach and Bizet, Vivaldi and Bernstein, ‘big opera’ and some show-stoppers – Romy Hills has created an intriguing cocktail of music for this recital. She gives charity concerts free of charge, by arrangement. She explains that her inspiration for this recital was an address by Rector Kevan about using our talents, and his later appeal for church funds.
Romy has played in the RAF Honington Band, and performed for the Lord Mayor of London at the Mansion House, as well as at other prestigious venues. Andrew Greaves began playing the piano aged 4, and at age 10 was the youngest church organist in the country, later attending the Guildhall School of Music.
Friday 24 May at 5.00 pm in St Mary’s Church
With Andy McCullough (clarinet) and his actress sister Rohan McCullough (narrator), accompanied by Andrew Leach (piano). The recital will include music by Albinoni, Walton, Kreisler, Verdi, Rachmaninov and others, with poems by Betjeman, Manley Hopkins, Belloc, Kipling, Edward Thomas and Wendy Cope.
Hamper raffle after the recital.
Tickets: £10 to include a glass of fizz, available from Woodbridge Violins or St Mary’s Shop, Market Hill.
