The 68th Open Air Carol Service will take place on Wednesday 18th December 2019; this is an annual event which takes place on the Market Hill in Woodbridge.
At the conclusion, Father Christmas arrives and hands out sweets to all the children in attendance.
Woodbridge Rotary Club who organise the carol service sees this as a way of thanking first, second, third and even fourth generations of the town who have supported them in their fundraising activities throughout the year.
No charge is made to attend the event, however there are opportunities for those who attend to make a voluntary contribution to charity, one that is normally local and helps and supports young people.
The event is becoming extremely costly to stage; this year sees an additional cost of over £300 as we are no longer able to put our own road closures in place, like many other charitable organisations we have to engage a Traffic Management Company to do this on our behalf.
This is a great shame as it means we will have to dramatically reduce the amount we donate to charity as our costs have increased.
We need your help by way of sponsorship; if you are able to help by way of sponsoring an element of our costs we will, if you wish, be more than happy to acknowledge details of your company on our advertising material and our web site.
The more of our costs which are covered will see more of the voluntary donations being given to charity, in previous years we have been able to cover our costs and make a large donation, this is becoming increasingly difficult and unlikely to occur in the future if we don’t receive any help, it would be a great shame after 67yrs if the open air carol service was no more.
If you feel you can help in some small way it would be helpful to know by the 1st November 2019 in order to ensure your details are included in our publicity.
If you are able to help, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07775 715733.
