The inaugural lunchtime meeting of the Rotary Club of Woodbridge was held on the 5th July 1946 with twenty members were present and the first Club president and founder member, Robin Ffinch, was the Governor of Hollesley bay Prison.   The effective date of the Club Charter was 3rd. October 1946.  In December 1952 the Club first presented a Christmas tree to the town of Woodbridge and have done every year since together with a Carol Service held on Market Hill.   Local children receive presents from Father Christmas, and a collection for Charity. The annual event attracts over 1000 people.

Since 2000 the Rotary club of Woodbridge has raised in excess of £250,000 for various charities both locally and  overseas.   The Club supports the local community in various ways that include providing drivers and transport for MENCAP`s Gateway Club. and together with members of the Rotary Club of Woodbridge Deben and the Inner Wheel Club of Woodbridge ,organise and support a Memory Cafe for people with dementia.

The Guest Speaker was Terry Hunt of the EADT. who gave us a light hearted talk about his life in the newspaper business
