A singer from Woodbridge is preparing for the biggest concert of her life this bank holiday weekend.
Caswell, a former BRIT school student, said: “It’s starting to sink in now, but it is still very bizarre.
“This weekend is undoubtedly going to be the best weekend of my life and will potentially be a tipping point in my career.”
The unsigned artist was crowned the winner of a battle of the bands competition on August 6 at Epic Studios in Norwich to secure her spot in opening for Ed Sheeran.
“I am so ready for the performance. Being involved in this competition has surpassed any of my expectations and, as cringey as it sounds, my wildest dream has come true,” she added.
“I’ve had moments where I thought about just giving up, as it can be really hard at times being unsigned. So, to have this happen now is amazing and I am so overwhelmed.”
James Lightfoot, chairman of Choose Woodbridge, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Caswell was victorious in the battle of the bands competition.
“The win was thoroughly deserved, and she will now get to perform her music to 40,000 people on bank holiday Monday.
“We look forward to seeing Caswell on stage at Chantry Park proudly flying the flag for Woodbridge.”
