Woodbridge Town Council is banning cars from the main streets in town (Thoroughfare, Quay Street, Church Street and the top part of Cumberland Street) on Saturday September 21st from 11am.
As one of our Climate Emergency initiatives we want to show residents and visitors alike just what a pedestrianised Woodbridge would feel like. So, our retailers will spill out into the street and we’ll have a range of fun things for the family to enjoy. Please come and join us!
The Mayor of Woodbridge Eamonn O’Nolan said “Roads and streets are just as much a part of the public domain as parks and open spaces. On our first Car-free Day, we want to work with community groups to fill the streets, let the kids run free, and just enjoy our wonderful town in a new way.
Car-free Woodbridge is part of the World Car-Free Day movement – who knows where this will lead?”
