Advanced Notice of Road Closures, 10K Race – 15th May

News ArticleAdvanced Notice of Road Closures, 10K Race – 15th May

Woodbridge Shufflers have kindly shared their residents’ information leaflet to give advance notice of the road closures for the 10k Race

“What makes the Woodbridge race so special for the 750 or so runners is the atmosphere, the setting, in our great town of Woodbridge, and the tremendous support they always get from
spectators.

Road Closures
So that runners can participate safely, we have to close some of the roads temporarily.

Once again we are asking for your patience and consideration, and we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause you. The map on the leaflet shows when and where
the road closures will be taking place and is also summarised below:

• New Street and St Johns Hill closed between 11:45am and 12:15pm
• Burkitt Road, Angel Lane, Queens Head Lane, Thoroughfare,
Church Street, Market Hill, Seckford Street, Drybridge Hill and
Theatre Street closed between 12 noon and 1:45pm
• Ipswich Road, Station Road, Quayside and Lime Kiln Quay Road
will be one way only between 12 noon and 1:00pm. All traffic emerging
onto this section will be obliged to turn towards the Duke of York pub
(Old Barrack Road)

The period of most traffic disruption will be between 12 noon and 1:15pm and we are hoping that motorists will be able to avoid driving in central Woodbridge or using Ipswich Rd/Station Rd between these times.

Please visit our website woodbridgeshufflers.org.uk to see more details of the roads affected. These details will also be on display in Woodbridge Library, and you can also come along to Woodbridge Library on Tuesday 10th May between 6:30pm and 7:30pm to meet some of the Shufflers, who will be able to answer your questions.

We also hope you will be able to come out and encourage the runners – many of them will be pushing themselves to extremes for a good cause!”
