It may only be February but the Woodbridge Shufflers are working hard to make sure that this year’s charity ‘Round the Town’ goes as smoothly as ever!
This year’s race takes place on Sunday 14th May and features two races: a 10km race for runners aged 15 and over and also a junior 1.5km race for runners aged between 7 and 15 inclusive.
As anyone who has experienced the races will know, the Round The Town is a real highlight of the Woodbridge calendar. Runners and supporters alike are guaranteed a great day out, all in the aid of local charity.
Set a reminder… and maybe an alarm too!
Entries to both races will open at 8am on Friday 10th March 2017 via the RunBritain website and links to the entry system will be posted on the Woodbridge Shufflers website. The two races are extremely popular and fill up within hours of the entries opening so get in quick to confirm your place! For this reason, there will be no entries available on the day.
The races raise money for local charities and in 2016 £5000 was raised and shared between five charities. Details of the charities supported in 2017 will be announced soon.
The Shufflers are excited to announce that a large number of local organisations have come forward to sponsor this year’s event. The 2017 line up so far includes: Adnams, The King’s Head, The Galley Restaurant, Barretts, Newman Physiotherapy, Amarinth, The Turks Head, Chapel Properties, Howard Construction, Anglia Gotelee Solicitors, Kingsland Linassi, Haven Power, Just Bea Hypnotherapy & Natural Well-being, Airborne Fit, The Complementary Healing Centre and Gressingham Foods.
In order to allow the races to take place safely, a number of roads will be closed during the race. A leaflet with full details of the closures will be posted on the Shufflers website and also through residents’ letterboxes.
