We’re now over half way through the Walking Festival and there are lots of walks suitable for every type of walker and plenty to keep the whole family entertained during half term.

Explore the connection between music, nature and landscape on the Musical Landscapes walk on Sunday 29 May starting at 5pm. The 2.5 mile walk begins at the White Horse Inn Car Park in Rendham and you’ll have the chance to hear about what inspired composers to make their music.

Explore Woodbridge on the Around Woodbridge walk on Monday 30 May. The short self-led walk starts at 9am and travels around the town with river views and short climbs through woods using footpaths and back lanes. This walk will be raising money for the Hollesley Group of the Riding for the Disabled.

Quiz lovers can combine a walk with a quiz testing your knowledge of local sites in Woodbridge on the Town Walk & Quiz on Monday 30 May. The easy walk, suitable for the whole family including pushchair users, dogs and children travels from Woodbridge Station at 9am raises money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Discover how deeply Benjamin Britten and his operas are rooted in the iconic seaside town of Aldeburgh on the Britten’s Aldeburgh walk on Wednesday 1 June. The 3 mile moderate walk starting at Aldeburgh Parish Church Car Park will help you explore key moments in the composer’s life, his biography and his music.

The Suffolk Walking Festival returns for its 9th year, running from the 14 May to 5 June and features a programme of over 70 walks, from one mile to sixty.

The programme includes a range of ‘challenge walks’ for both experienced and novice walkers, which emphasise the benefits of walking for mental and physical health.
