Date: Saturday 31st July
Venue: Elmhurst Park in the bandstand
Tickets: Free entry but booking is essential. Tickets available here.
Local band East of the Sun will be performing in the open air in Elmhurst Park in the bandstand.
The band will bring us their varied repertoire of classic pop, rock, soul and country music.
Rachel Keveren is the voice of the band. She has performed in a couple of pantos with the Deben Players and has impersonated Billie Holliday, Judy Garland and Shirley Bassey in their production of Little Voice.
The guitarist is Chris Moore, a retired teacher with experience of playing in a country-duo, a blues band and a jazz big band. He is well-known locally having performed in The Crown and various Peninsula pubs.
The bass player Greg Walsh founded East of the Sun a couple of years ago and is also well known for his handyman skills: he is a leading light of the Woodbridge Repair Cafe.
Martin Minta is the band’s drummer whose musical memories range from Colchester Folk Club, a blues club in Bishops Stortford and Bluesville at Ipswich’s Manor Ballroom.
Please bring your own seating and refreshment and during the interval we will be collecting donations for the work of Friends of Woodbridge Library (FOWL).
