The Unruly Pig is named ‘Dining Pub of the Year’ by The Good Pub Guide 2021 and Suffolk’s only UK Top 50 Gastropub.
The 2021 version of The Good Pub Guide has just been published and the champagne corks have therefore been popping at The Unruly Pig as it has just been named as ‘Dining Pub of the Year’. If that were not enough, the pub has also been named ‘County Pub of the Year – Suffolk’ by the same prestigious guide.
But it does not stop there because The Unruly Pig has just been informed that it has also retained its place as Suffolk’s only UK Top 50 Gastropub! It is currently listed at position number 29 in the prestigious Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropub list and will find out it’s new position at a virtual/ on line awards ceremony in January 2021.
This multi award winning pub has received its fair share of accolades and awards over the years – most recently ’ Best Front of House Team 2020’ in the Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropub Awards. Dave Wall, Head Chef said “This is wonderful news. To have received just one award as Suffolk County Pub of the Year is a fantastic honour. But to then receive the news of a second, national award as best dining pub, is just tremendous. But it then got even better to be told that we had also retained our place as Suffolk’s only UK Top 50 Gastropub. In challenging times this is such an amazing accolade for Team Unruly.”
Like all pubs in Suffolk, The Unruly Pig only reopened its doors after its second lockdown on Wednesday 2nd December. Dave Wall therefore added “To say the very least, this pandemic has been difficult for the whole country and certainly for all of us at The Unruly Pig. So, these awards are such a timely boost for such hardworking and dedicated team. Team Unruly are all so proud of what they have achieved.”
Owner Brendan Padfield added “Dave has done it again. I am so proud of the whole team here and Dave’s continued success and all the many awards he wins.”
