The maintenance work includes routine replacement of the 100 year old jointed track with new track which is a continuously welded rail. There is also be improvement to the level crossing and carry out strengthening to the railway bridges at Ufford.

 

To do this the line is closed as are some of the level crossings. It is being carried out now to take advantage of the lower traffic volumes during the midterm break.

 

In Woodbridge there will be level crossing closures at Haywards crossing and Ferry Lane plus the Jetty Lane crossing.

Haywards and Ferry Lane is expected to reopen on Monday 3rd November.

Jetty Lane is closed from 30/10/25 until Friday 31/10/25
